We all have one... a filing cabinate packed full and we don't know what's in it. I broke down and went through ours! I got out the handy dandy label maker, bought some new hanging folders and file folders (ours were pretty ragged) at good ol' Office Depot and set to work. It helped that the Hubby went through the files a few months ago and pulled out a few really REALLY old things and burned them (we really need a shredder!). But things were still un orderly and I do enjoy some alphabetizing.
Here is the before of one of the neater cabinets (why there is a ziplock bag in there, I don't know):
